Guitar Lessons!

In order to raise funds for a mission trip I'll be going to in September (to Japan), I will be giving music lessons - guitar, piano, bass, drums, voice, or whatever musical help I can provide you with.

I'll be charging $20 *minimum* for guitar & piano and $15 minimum for everything else. On top of the minimum, I ask that you pay according to how valuable you thought the lesson was. Every single penny will go straight towards th e missions fund.

Please go to www.junhopark.com/lesson for more info.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for reading!

nkfpc 2007 family retreat

[n.k.f.p.c. 2007 family retreat] - "v e r i z o n"

We'll be taking a deeper look into God's call upon us to love God & to love others.  These two go hand-in-hand and are to be inseparable from each other.

I hope you guys will be able to make it out to Lake Geneva with me next weekend!  Let me know if you have any questions about the retreat!

So long, Gorilla!

So I've been in the process of getting my house on the market for about the last month or so.  It's not like there's a TON of stuff to do... mostly cleaning up, organizing, getting rid of the clutter, and some minor repairs.  And I suppose I could've taken care of all this in about a week.  But I don't particularly enjoy cleaning and it's been a challenge getting it done.  Just today, I spent about 3 hours cleaning one single room.  And it still looks a bit messy.  I don't think I'm very good at this cleaning stuff...

Anyhow, here's something I've been reassured of during this whole "get-the-house-ready" process -- I want to live in a small, inexpensive home... probably a small condo.  I don't think I ever want to live in a big house with a big yard and a gazillion things to take care of.  It's too much work and I can think of a ton of things that are more worthwhile than taking care of my house.  I just don't think it's worth the money, time, and effort.  I used to long after living in a sizable house with a big yard and a pro-level recording setup... however, that idea doesn't seem nearly as appealing to me anymore.

While on this topic, I've gotta say this:  I'm totally convinced that living well-below my means is an excellent way to live.  The single biggest reason why I so badly want to sell the house is for financial reasons--my own as well as my parents'.  In many ways, it's been like carrying a gigantic & hairy gorilla on my back and I cannot wait until I can finally kick this gorilla off of my back.  I want my finances to exert as little of a control on my life as possible and I think this is the first big step I need to take.

Earlier today I thought about how cool it'd be to throw a party and invite a great multitude of people once my house is sold.  I'll call it the "so long, gorilla" party.  I think I'm gonna need to keep daydreaming about this party to get me motivated about getting the house all ready.

I just gotta say that Ed Raynor is da man!  He showed me how to fix up a hole in the wall.  That was one of the bigger tasks on my to-do list and I'm so glad I got started on it.  This fix-your-home stuff is actually kinda fun...

This is just awesome!

I simply had to put this up on here cuz it's SO good.  I truly appreciate the thought that was put into this. =)

On a slightly different note, I'm trying to figure out what the best way to improve my Korean writing skills is.  Actually, include Korean speaking skills as well.  I just emailed my friend in Korea in Korean and I think it took me close to an hour typing up a single paragraph email.  It was fun in the beginning and then on my 10th word, I was just exhausted.  I had to look up a number of different words to make sure I spelled 'em right.  I know I still got at least a few wrong...  I hope I can take a trip out to Korea next year and by the time I get out there, I want to be able to have an easier time conversing with the people there.  It's difficult to have meaningful conversations when talking becomes such a chore due to my Korean being so rusty...

Any suggestions?
